Tourism Australia is the Australian Government agency responsible for attracting international visitors to the country. Their Aussie Specialist qualification is an online course where retail travel agents can access the training, resources and knowledge required to sell Australia as a holiday destination.
Having built the first digital version of the program, we also redesigned and re-engineered the e-learning platform.
From the outset we shared a vision with Tourism Australia for a user journey that was clean, clear and intuitive.
We set about delivering a solution that prioritised usability and takes candidates smoothly through a core set of training modules and a final exam. Research played a key role in building a highly intuitive system whilst testing the solution with real candidates helped us create the perfect online experience for users signing up to the programme.
Following the completion of the redesign an independent study from the University of Lugano, Switzerland found that 67% of travel professionals claimed to have sold at least one destination package to Australia within days of their qualification as an Aussie Specialist.
Tourism Australia’s Aussie Specialist Program was ranked as the Number 1 tourism education course in the world. The program is now available in 21 different languages and is used in 110 countries worldwide.
